The Innovation Hub for Urban Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Solutions (IHUWASH) project implemented by National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), a premier research institute under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, supported by United States Agency for International Development (US-AID) organised a one-day multi-stakeholder mega LEARNING & KNOWLEDGE SHARING EVENT on Monday, 30th September 2019.

The Director, Dr. Vikas Misra and the WASH Chair, Dr. Manish Varma, HoD- Civil Engineering, bad gone for the Learning & Knowledge Sharing Event on behalf of Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies.

GITS is a part of the IHUWASH project with Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) and other stakeholders from the industry, the UCCI and IIM-U. The initiative aims to improve urban WASH sector performance through incubation and acceleration of innovative solutions.

Sh. Hitesh Vaidya, Director, National Institute of Urban Affairs (TBC), Sh. Ankit Kumar Singh (IAS), Municipal Commissioner, Udaipur, Sh. Chandra Singh Kothari, Mayor, Udaipur, Ms. Anandhi (IAS), District Collector, Udaipur, Sh. Vikas Sitaram Bhale, Divisional Commissioner, Udaipur (TBC), Sh. Anand Rudra, Senior Advisor- Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, USAID, India, were the main dignitaries of the event. The event marked the Release of Knowledge Products, a Walkthrough of Public Sanitation Facilities and Coffee Table Book followed by the presentation of Reports on Monitoring, Evaluation, Progress and Feedback from participants of various activities conducted under IHUWASH project.

The programme concluded with a Panel Discussion focusing on project experience of Udaipur city highlighting the contribution of multi stakeholder partnerships in addressing the WASH challenges through innovative and participatory approaches.
